My favorite is probably the Vietnam War. Many events took place that are crucial for us Americans to analyze. It's rich in history and it should be a warning to all soldiers. Is had many chaotic occurances that have been analyzed for decades. It's a staple in history and will stick with us forever. A shocking nineteen years of hell.

Diocletian becoming the roman emperor and instituting a whole new way to deal with the emperors The Age of Diocletian is a rather gloomy era in history!

Defenestration of Prague is an amazing example of lite really overthrowing a government. Why execute political leaders when you have perfectly fine windows to throw them out of.

Fire-making, the Greek language, Agriculture, masonry buildings, wheel, the Greek alphabetical writing, ship-building, and, in modern times, the discovery of a New World by Columbus and Amerigo Vespucci (which opened the way for huge European migrations),the European Baroque arts (Shakespeare's dramas; the Baroque music, including opera; etc.), the American revolution and James Madison's drafting of the Constitution of the United States, Galileo and Newton's discoveries of the laws of nature, the Italian internal combustion engine (patented yet surreptitiously used in carriages in Austria-- wherefore the automobile), methods for generating Current Electricity; and much more!

I have to say that my favorite event in history is a bloody tragedy, an innocent man who was beat, spit on, mocked, and crucified. Because it was the ultimate picture of self-sacrificial love. A God, King of the Universe, Creator of everything in existence, stepped into His creation as a human to suffer the wrath and punishment we earned by our sin. He chose to suffer this for me. For each of us. It is my hope and desire to love like that.
