The event of Karbala!

Among the 72 the youngest was 6month & oldest was 102 year old.

I can't write whole events & it's impact, I will only brief you!
The Battle of Karbala took place, in the year October 10, 680 AD. in Karbala, in present-day Iraq.The battle took place between a small group of supporters and relatives of Husayn ibn Ali (total 72 including men, women, old & young) against a very larg military forces of Yazid I, the Umayyad caliph/dynasty.
It was a war of justice, morality against the unjust, immoral, oppression .. The worst dictator/terrorists human kind ever seen. His army even didn't spared 6 month old child & martyred cold bloodedly.
As I said earlier, the oldest was 102 yr old.. He was habib... He was not even in a condition of fighting, but still he stood against an oppressor, sided with truth & fought fearlessly... So one can understand.. its our stand that matter.. Even in today's age if you devote yourself for a good cause no matter how mighty your opposition is.. How luring/tempting the falsehood is... But truth is always peaceful & deeply satisfying!

There is a saying "truth prevails at the end" so today Yazid is so cursed,No one call his name, people remember his tyranny & barbarism. On the other side Hussain a.s. still alive as an inspiration for millions, an inspiration for humanity. Mainstream media started noticing these days, quote:"the independent /guardian/haffpost" "Million march against the isis", "who is Hussain" etc .
People cut across the religion, ethnicity, culture commemorate the event of Karbala.. & it's the world largest gathering every year(More than the gathering of Mecca during hajj)
terror groups frequently target these Marches(in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, syria(after isis), Nigeria etc..etc) , but failed to stop it!

For me it's a tie between defeating the Neo Nazis and the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

My favorite moment was the duel between Andrew Jackson and Charles Dickinson. Charles Dickinson insulted Andrew Jackson's wife so Andrew Jackson challenged him to a duel. When the duel started Andrew Jackson allowed Dickinson a very accomplished marksman to take the first shot. Dickinson did and the bullet landed right next to Jackson's heart. Blood started squirting out like a great fountain, but Andrew Jackson the tough Scots Irish hillbilly that he was took his thumb and put it into the hole next to his heart pointed his gun and fired. He missed and thus technically by the rules of dueling the duel should have been over. But Andrew Jackson ignored the rules and fired his weapon again hitting Dickinson between the legs. Andrew Jackson then fell down and passed out. Charles Dickinson died a horribly painful death... Andrew Jackson survived and went on to be the president of the United States. When asked how Jackson was able to shoot Dickinson after getting shot so near to his heart he replied, "If he had shot me in the brain, I still should have killed him."
