The birth and life of Jesus of Nazareth and the renaissance. It seems you should like Jordano Bruno who had claimed himself as the new Jesus (according to F. Yeytz).

Ashoka the Great's renunciation of war, after being guilt stricken by the carnage he caused in his invasion of Kalinga as a young conqueror, and his subsequent adoption of pacafism and Buddhism, in the third century B.C. He spend the rest of his life spreading buddhism all over the world, creating an excellent administrative system, and animal friendly policies through personal example as a vegetarian, banning of hunting and establishment of many veterinary clinics.

The invention of the printing press and the subsequent publication of the King James Bible. In other words, the birth of mass literature.

The founding of the Bavarian Illuminati. It's deplorable how the conspiracy theorists picked out this obscure movement for their ideas. The birth and life of Jesus of Nazareth and the renaissance. Interesting, do you consider those separate or similar events? Was Jesus really the pacifistic, meat-eating mystic he was portrayed as? Or would he have been like the men of the renaissance, inclined to antiquity rather than Judaism?

They say that Socrates is born by some mystical circumstances... but I don't remember which exactly... Anyway, as you rightly said, Socrates was born in Plato's fictions. I wonder if history heroes are always appearing in such way, and we're getting acknowledges of them only by reading fictions? If it is so, it's amazingly fantastic! I need for example a big bunch of friends who will talk more interesting stories after my death, and I will become a known person!.. So, that is a secret of after-death successful, ha?

Jesus's life is an important historical event as it literally changed the world. The West and many other parts of the world would be completely different if not for His influence. Jesus is accurately portrayed by the the gospels. He was more than just a pacifist and don't really know what meat eating has anything to do with he topic. As for the renaissance I enjoy it for a different reason.

Wouldn't it be more accurate to say the church's influence? I don't see any of Jesus' more significant teachings permeating the religion. I don't think he was ever a pacifist. If that were the case, then we could classify him as an impotent dreamer. As for meat eating, a vegetarian diet is undoubtedly more healthier, simplistic, rational. I don't at all believe the reports of Jesus eating meat with his disciples. The churches probably twisted his parables pertaining to fish to justify the consumption.
