What do you guys think? I personally have mixed opinions. On one hand I think it’s a repulsive and repugnant lifestyle and I believe if legalized many men would be more likely to seek this kind of companionship. Especially if we went the direction Australia did with brothels. If this was the case though and the girls were being constantly tested like do over there, then perhaps it’s an idea that could work. At least it seems a better option than men seeking out street walkers, leading to the spreading of STDs.

Legalize in what sense? I am fine with how it is solved in my country - prostitution is not forbidden but it is not a job.
The country must not dictate anybody how to live their lives, not to be a guardian of someone's perception of morality. If you don't want to hire a prostitute r then just don't.

Legalized prostitution is safer, could reduce the number of street walkers, and the law can protect the prostitutes and their right. But I think it does not solve other issues like sex trafficking and child prostitution. There are always men who look for cheap sex, underage and teens, weird stuff and etc.

I don't particularly agree with it on a moral level, but I think it should be legalized.
As long as it isn't hurting anybody (or rather as long as the parties are consenting), then they should be free to do what they like.
When you prohibit a commodity or service, you're laying the grounds for criminals to line their pockets. Kind of similar to our war on drugs.

Well I see two ways of legalization 1. Individuals selling their sex cannot legally be charged with a crime period. 2. Turning it into a business, brothels were the women are constantly being tested (weekly basis) and protection being made mandatory.

Yes, the Old Testament clearly supports legal prostitution. The stories of prostitutes or women who acted like prostitutes are all positive. But the reasoning for prostitution can be found in Proverbs 6:26 which says "For a prostitute's fee is only a loaf of bread, but an adulteress goes after a precious life." In other words, it is telling men that rather than commit adultery by having sex with a married woman, they should just pay a prostitute. Prostitution is needed to protect women's chastity because it provides a safe outlet for men's desires. Without prostitution, men chase after all women and so chastity is destroyed.
Of course the U.S. will never legalize prostitution. It is a purely evil society that supports everything evil and attacks everything that is good.

I never saw it as ok but as sin Shrug Genesis 2:24 24 For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh. Corinthians 6:13 says, "The body is not for immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body." Psalm 199:9 9 How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. Leviticus 19:29 'Do not profane your daughter by making her a harlot, so that the land will not fall to harlotry and the land become full of lewdness. Deuteronomy 23:17-18 "None of the daughters of Israel shall be a cult prostitute, nor shall any of the sons of Israel be a cult prostitute. "You shall not bring the hire of a harlot or the wages of a dog into the house of the LORD your God for any votive offering, for both of these are an abomination to the LORD your God. Leviticus 21:7 'They shall not take a woman who is profaned by harlotry, nor shall they take a woman divorced from her husband; for he is holy to his God. All but one is OT!

Genesis 2:24 and Psalm 199:9 don't seem directly relevant. Leviticus 19:29 - At least your translation uses the word "harlot" which is most accurate and means promiscuous woman, either prostitute or Ok,,, just let me cry,,,leave me alone. The warning here is basically that parents shouldn't let their daughters become Ok,,, just let me cry,,,leave me alones or else society will be overrun by Ok,,, just let me cry,,,leave me alones (like America today). Prostitution should the choice of a small minority of women. Deuteronomy 23:17 - The concept of "cult prostitute" is a very specific word in Hebrew, unrelated to the word for Ok,,, just let me cry,,,leave me alone/prostitute. Deuteronomy 23:18 - While prostitution is tolerated in the Old Testament, it is certainly not considered holy. In general, things that are "unclean" are not accepted in the Temple, and money earned from prostitution falls in this category. But the fact that this is even discussed proves that prostitution is tolerated by the Old Testament. Leviticus 21:7 - This is saying that priests should only marry virgins which is related to the concept of purity.

But God doesn't allow His people near harlots or other ungodly things. Nor does He pardon such things. Jeremiah 5:7 "Why should I pardon you? Your sons have forsaken Me And sworn by those who are not gods When I had fed them to the full, They committed adultery And trooped to the harlot's house.
