Doric tribes came from Lake Doris in central Greece. Alexander and Philippos were proud of their Greek ancestry. Philippos was proud to belonged in the lineage of Hercules, you know the Greek hero. Olympias was of the lineage of Achilleys of Myrmidon. Alexander the 1st, the grandpa of Alexander the 3rd, was allowed in Olympic games, which was an event for ONLY Greeks by descent( you needed to prove your ancestry, no non Greeks were allowed). They spoke Greek, their towns, texts, religion, everything was Greek. The whole Macedonian kingdoms were named HELLENIC, because of their greek identity. The geography of the original Macedonia is in Greece and will always be. FYROM is in a place named Paionia in the ancient times. You were part of Macedonia when they conquered you, like they conquered everyone up until India. The identity of Macedonia is a historically proven solved thing. P.S. I can read every stone, everything MY ancestors , the Macedonians left in Pella and other Greek sites. Can you read their texts? Or you need to translate them into the slavic dialect you speak? |

Macedonians I know don't think they are related to ancient Macedonians. They consider themselves Slavs, but then again they are not from the center of ignorance - the city of Skopje. They are also well educated, perhaps thats another reason.

Oh my, I knew the "famous" Robin Lane was coming up, you surprised me that you didn't post the Dorothy King video doe, I've discussed with many Greeks and almost every single one of them sent me the same videos trying to prove something, I guess that's your only real argument, you don't have any of your own so you use others with an intention to outsmart me, hoping I will give up and "accept the truth" (lmao) . Years ago, on another site, I noticed a stronger division between Macedonians and Greeks, but then I realized that there was a real political issue: Some Greeks contended that, on account of their original ethnic identity, Macedonia should be part of the political Greek nation [Hellas], rather than an independent nation. Personally, I do not agree that ethnic identity or uniformity implies political unification, or that Macedonia should be under the jurisdiction of Hellas -- that South Korea should be under the jurisdiction of North Korea.... and so forth. An alliance between the two sides may be best for both. That the Macedonians, the Latins, the Messapians, etc., are ethically ancient Greeks (with a Greek language, etc.) is, for me, beyond any question, even though in the course of time they became culturally distinct. So, indeed, "no big deal"! |
