The Ottoman Empire was no different than the so-called Europan Imperialist and Colonialist, The were not just "terrible" per se and the Sultans weren't all "completely useless" please read about Suleiman the Magnificent, he was a quite an interesting man, and there's obviously the reasons as to why he posseses the title "magnificent" If not for radu cel frumos (HANDSOME), then ottoman would have been eliminated. Infact, everyone on this planet worked together to eliminate the sultanates of mongols and turks en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afonso_de_AlbuquerqueNot "everyone" well it's true the fact that both the east and the west, the Muslims and Non-Muslims wanted the eradication of the Ottoman Empire, but those were only the countries in which still chained by the Ottoman occupation such as Greece, Egypt, and some parts in the Mediterranian Islands. Etc. And, Evidently, the Triple Alliance did not want the destruction of the Ottoman Empire because it's their allies, you can't just narrow down the essence of History by generalization and claimed it as "fact" well actually the Ottoman before the first WW did establish a good relationship with Britain, they had their own ambassadors in each country |

Huh, liking the Ottoman empire? Definitely not my cup of tea, but then again most of my reading about it is well after the Young Turks took over and a time after the rise in Turkish nationalism.

They were a bit cruel to some of the Slav country's which they controlled.For instance,there is a thing they did to my country called "Devshirme"(danak u krvi-serbian,blood tribute-english)where,if i remember correctly,they took children from the age of 8-10 and trained them as cannon fodder in the army.And if the kid would survive the battles,they would take him to his parents and let him murder his own Father and Mother.They used some type of technique in which the kid would train so long,that he would forget about his past.There is an exception which i know and his name is Mehmed Pasa Sokolovic.But all in all they were pretty strong with the cavalry,had good tactics and looked pretty cool. i made a mistake in the writting.It's supposed to be 8-10 years of age. |
