Russia Wanted Trump As President And It Got Him. Now What Does America Do? ,HuffPost• November 22, 2017 On Jan. 6, 2017, the U.S. intelligence community released a declassified version of its analysis finding that Russian President Vladimir Putin had not only interfered in the 2016 election, but had actively tried to help Trump. Among the tools Russia used was the theft of emails from the campaign of Trump’s opponent, Hillary Clinton, and their release through Russia-friendly WikiLeaks. Trump campaign foreign policy aide George Papadopoulos detailed in filings associated with his guilty plea agreement how Russians in April 2016 were offering the campaign emails damaging to Clinton. Emails between the president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., and a former business partner show that the younger Trump was eager to see the supposedly incriminating information in advance of a Trump Tower meeting. Trump Jr. later traded messages with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange about his father’s exploitation of emails stolen from Clinton campaign chair John Podesta. On Oct. 12, 2016, after Assange suggested that the GOP nominee help publicize the latest batch of stolen emails, Trump himself sent a tweet praising WikiLeaks just 15 minutes later. On May 9, 2017, after three months of complaining about the FBI’s Russia probe, Trump fired the agency’s director, James Comey. The reason initially stated was that Comey had mishandled an investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server during her time as secretary of state. But the very next day, Trump reportedly told Russia’s foreign minister and its U.S. ambassador during an Oval Office visit that he’d fired Comey to block the probe. Trump again cited the Russia investigation as a reason for firing Comey in an interview with NBC News on May 11. That firing led quickly to Mueller’s appointment to take over the investigation. www.yahoo.com/news/russia-wanted-trump-president-got-100030401.html

I’m not sure if Russia wanted Trump as president, or just did not want Hillary as president, because I would agree with the second option

Facebook data collection was also for getting people to vote for Trump wasn't it? They made last election so presented in such a way that it was the first election I didn't want to vote in. Not for Trump or Hilary. It was too "off" for me. And Trump even wants to be president forever. Why is everything set up to him being president? I don't like it one bit. I noticed this big time! One month Hillary would seem like a mega sociopath and the next month Trump would seem bad too! Hillary’s were always Far Worse though. I personally thought Facebook chose the president I did not read into Trump but I did read into Hillary and she seemed terrible, who would want another Clinton anyway? Have you seen what Bill has been up to? Ugh.

How the Russia Inquiry Began: A Campaign Aide, Drinks and Talk of Political Dirt By SHARON LaFRANIERE, MARK MAZZETTI and MATT APUZZO DEC. 30, 2017 WASHINGTON — During a night of heavy drinking at an upscale London bar in May 2016, George Papadopoulos, a young foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign, made a startling revelation to Australia’s top diplomat in Britain: Russia had political dirt on Hillary Clinton. About three weeks earlier, Mr. Papadopoulos had been told that Moscow had thousands of emails that would embarrass Mrs. Clinton, apparently stolen in an effort to try to damage her campaign. Exactly how much Mr. Papadopoulos said that night at the Kensington Wine Rooms with the Australian, Alexander Downer, is unclear. But two months later, when leaked Democratic emails began appearing online, Australian officials passed the information about Mr. Papadopoulos to their American counterparts, according to four current and former American and foreign officials with direct knowledge of the Australians’ role. The hacking and the revelation that a member of the Trump campaign may have had inside information about it were driving factors that led the F.B.I. to open an investigation in July 2016 into Russia’s attempts to disrupt the election and whether any of President Trump’s associates conspired. www.nytimes.com/2017/12/30/us/politics/how-fbi-russia-investigation-began-george-papadopoulos.html

Regardless of one's stance on whether Russia 'hacked' the US election, I think everyone can agree increased security, especially when it comes to such important elections, should be pursued. I hear too many horror stories about the insecurity of some voting machines... we're talking about electing the president of the fucking USA here!!! Why aren't we using extreme caution with this shit?? I agree with you there. Cybersecurity in America and actually, all across the world should be actively improved as to prevent any claims of "the hacks the hacks!" going all around the globe. If security was substantially better, then we would not have as much of this nagging nor worry in the first place.

Trump was supported during the period 2015-2016 by sensible forces around the world, in hopes that he will execute his program ... but he was bought. Wall Street always puts its people in the White House!
