Source: Powerful new tool for looking for life beyond EarthCompact spectroscopy instrument offers sensitive and fast detection for planetary exploration Summary: NASA has developed an innovative new spectroscopy instrument to aid the search for extraterrestrial life. The new instrument is designed to detect compounds and minerals associated with biological activity more quickly and with greater sensitivity than previous instruments. Researchers from NASA Langley Research Center and the University of Hawaii developed a new micro Raman spectroscopy instrument to search for life on the surface of other planets. Looking for evidence of life on other planets continues to be an important part of the NASA Planetary Exploration Program. Pictured is Derek Davis, a student from Old Dominion University, working on the instrument.

It's just a waste of money! Rather, they will find us, than we and maybe alien have found long ago us and did not want to contact us, and we simply do not know about this!

I doubt they'll find life but space pictures they capture are beautiful! I think our current technology is still not advanced enough to find or contacts aliens. Maybe in year 2200, humans would have a chance to achieve that advanced technology. If we accept the UFOs are real, then we are still primitive in comparison with aliens and their technologies.

A small correction .. If such a year comes! We do not know what will happen tomorrow, not to mention the future!
