... well there were 5 of them... This is the story of the Cambridge 5, who sold the soul of the west to the commies; giving the soviets nuclear weapons...

The work of Prometheus is still alive, the followers of him have been trying to complete his work... Spies are thieves, who sell information. Prometheus wouldn't mind to have his name glorified, because of what he's done. By this act Prometheus bought his very name. The true stargazers never steal any info for the purposes of others, they are satisfied to have it for themselves.
I think the govt intentionally tries to glorify the spy work as well as many others things like militaries (the army), police, etc. In the ancient times the most outrageous, strong, and successful warriors were taken as almost gods, and that wasn't a good point of the tribes, since there's no one single warrior in the battlefield; I mean, usually many people must put efforts to gain results. Somehow the ancient overemphasizes the work of the singles.
Surely, there might be many successful single warriors, however their introvert abilities – the spiritual powers – helped them, and instead of glorifying that energy (must say, the ancient Greeks were more close to underline the role of the energy; Stoics did it openly, and it was quite widespread among many decent citizens of the Roman Empire), they cultivated just the shapes of them.
I wonder how that principle (about warriors, introverts, energy, etc) has been transformed in the spies, and in this particular spy especially.
