TikTok is destroying a generation. The social media platform is capable of decreasing your attention span, then serving content that capitalizes on that lack of attention control resulting in psychological damage, and dangerous circumstances. Viral challenges that contain harmful activities, and even movement disorders born of the destructive content format are becoming more and more common as over 4 billion social media users engage with these platforms for more than 2 hours every day. TikTok is, by far, the worst one.

ΔιαμονδI don't use TikTok and I barely use other social medias. For example, I just have a Twitter account for browsing/lurking because you need an account for accessing all features. Just wanted to share the point of view of this YouTuber which is a good content creator.

Of course, TikTok is not so pretty, because it's like, you know, it's a difficult-to-read textbook. One needs to be prepared to watch it. And when it's being watched plenty of times, one can discover how cool this tiktoki is.
No... I can't. I mean I cannot lie... I cannot.

Nothing polarizes opinion like TikTok. My friend's elderly mother spends almost an hour on TikTok every night, and it both amuses and startles her. It is her way of killing time, and with more and more older adults using TikTok, I think we really need to understand how they are affected by it. The experience could well be a little too overwhelming in some cases. TikTok is a scary problem at times. Might seem like an exaggeration, but formal education's failure to do enough to incentivize kids to explore their critical thinking abilities could also be tied to TikTok's growing clout. By "formal" I mean an unimaginative insistence on doing things by the book. Even thinking is subjected to conformity, which isn't exactly good for freedom of thought. For instance, some teachers hold that students simply cannot use "and/or" in their writing. To be sure, the use of " and/or" is not recommended for formal writing by most style guides, but that's not the final word. It's a suggestion, and teachers should examine if the usage is right. If it's not explain away, but don't ban its usage. Might be a very strange example, but pedantic attention to wrong details characterizes formal education today, and it drives many to TikTok and similar spaces.
