Concentration camp, (eng. concentration — from the Latin. concentratio — "focusing" it. Konzentrationslager, Lager, das — "warehouse, store") — a specially equipped center of mass forced imprisonment and detention the following categories of citizens of various countries: prisoners of war and internees during the war; political prisoners in some dictatorships, in an extrajudicial procedure; persons deprived of their liberty on ethnic or other grounds; hostages, usually during civil wars or occupation; dedicated to the elimination of the extermination camps in Nazi Germany and Croatia. Originally, the term was used mainly in relation to camps for prisoners of war and internees, but currently it usually is associated primarily with the concentration camps of the Third Reich and therefore became understood as a symbol of mass confinement under brutal conditions. Despite the fact that in the concentration camps as we know tortured people but it wasn't important in the first place! First it was just a place for prisoners.
