Stalin started supporting the Orthodox church after the German invasion, realizing that it would help unifying the Russian people against the Nazis.

Stalin started supporting the Orthodox church after the German invasion, realizing that it would help unifying the Russian people against the Nazis.
Yes, I know it. But to be historically closer there were enough cases when the Church worked even in pre-war period. It happened rather rarely, but some of such facts were true. In most of the case in the Stalin era was - to put preachers into the cells. I mean Stalin was a cruel person who sent many people to prison for no reason. |

Yes, I know it. But to be historically closer there were enough cases when the Church worked even in pre-war period. It happened rather rarely, but some of such facts were true.
