I watched some of this video which has many details that don't interest me. But isn't life after the collapse of any civilization pretty much the same? After the collapse of Rome. And after the collapse of our digital age. All lead back to a primitive state.

My take on it is that civilizations always stagnate, and collapse is eventually needed to enable a fresh start. Maybe the old testament required the conditions created in the aftermath of the apocalypse to be written. People tend to become more religious when facing disaster, while becoming shallow and decadent when prosperity has lasted so long they believe it will last forever.
By the way, in another thread discussing philosophy and science, you referred to the old testament. Does the old testament in any way imply the correct scientific method?
