There is no such thing as a perfect diamond .a perfect diamond does not exist .diamonds are hard and gritty when are heated from coal in the earth not clear cut like in stores .

Maybe when people refer to perfect diamond they just mean that it was cut well or that it looks perfect on their finger. But not all diamonds are made the same. Anyone can explain more about that? XD

That's a nice post and it reminded me of the stereometry of diamonds. Once they are cut and polished, they are called brilliants. A classical brilliant has 58 faces and represents two pyramids placed base to base, one of them has its vertex cut by a horizontal plane. I understand it is convenient to fit such a form into the ring bracelets, but I think other forms and other methods of fastening could be attempted, too. I'd love to see brilliants with the forms of Platonian solids, for instance. They are not so common, but you can still see the pics of them on the internet. Still, the most perfect form would be a diamond ball.

Diamond, diamonds look very much like glass. The difference is, diamond is much harder and more brittle, so it needs much polishing work to make a perfect sphere. The surface can be made opaque or translucent, very much like the pics below.
