I'm Christian and a social conservative but having single-payer healthcare is seems like a common sense idea that the US should have by now. Everytime I support this I get called a communist but I'm not even a communist. Its just that this system has been proven to be more efficient than leaving it up to the free market. What do you think? Should healthcare ve treated as a commodity in a modern nation?

Almost every country in the world has socialist healthcare or are trying to get social healthcare except China, Africa and the US. You cannot argue that it isn't successful, because it is popular the most popular choice in the world. I would instead talk about the History of socialized healthcare, demographics of socialized healthcare, propaganda involved, differences in cost for the same operations and how it effects jobs in medical field.
Democrats and the majority of Republicans now believe healthcare is at least if not a constitutional right a fundamental right. Trump-care is really nothing but a modification of ObamaCare. Trump made this clear when he campaigned, and it wasn't a problem at all for me. I voted on mainly on military, immigration issues, infrastructure and jobs regardless. In a decade single payer will be implemented in The U.S.
The system is too far gone now to get it back to a free market without millions of people dying. What's going to happen is the health insurance bubble will burst and single payer will mostl likely be implemented here.

Well a socialized health care and benefits system is much different than a socialist government. These two are actually quite far away from each other but they get lumped in with each other constantly.
I'm Canadian, I can see whoever doctor I want, whenever. I can walk into a clinic and a half hour later be referred to a specialist. Prescription medications are nearly always 100% covered, actually almost any medical service I could need is paid for except cosmetic surgeries.
Dental is covered 100% for minor and 80% major (mind you my company health plan assists with that and brings up the basic coverage a bit) My company pays for a basic life insurance of 150k plus there is long and short term disability, all sorts of benefits there.
My medical plan covers everything from scans to specialists, to surgery to long term care if needed... its not all that special.
The idea, everyone pays in a little bit and those who need it get it.
If you're in the states and you have no medical plan, a broken arm can cost you a house.
It just seems so foreign to me that a population as big as the US's doesn't supply each of its citizens a basic health plan - and things like Parental leave, whoah !.. Having a child is expensive enough but not even being given any parental leave or like my friends wife was expected to be back to work after her vacation time was used up seems insane.
Why can't this be figured out? Just pick any western country and use what they do, its not that hard really.
