Hey, discussions on the internet have always been a mess. Lots of people shouting and insulting each other. Most people seem to be completely immune to criticism or are simply unable to exchange arguments in a civil manner. Others have given up already and no longer write comments or join discussions. The internet is such a beautiful opportunity to work on our collaborative description of reality and instead we are failing more and more to understand each other. We need to work on improving that or else the internet will lead to violence and ultimately self-destructing societies. In my opinion one of the root causes of this is that we have a natural tendency to identify with the ideas that we store in our brains. We love ideology and we defend our informational catalogue with everything we got, because acknowledging a good argument means that we were wrong and that we need to let go of an idea, a part of our personality. A much better way would be to identify with our way of thinking instead of our knowledge. Critical thinking skills are becoming more and more crucial in this age of informational floods. And these "tools" with which we can analyse the value of new information should be the centerpiece of our identity. These thoughts have lead me to create my first YouTube video in the hopes of at least playing a small part to solve these issues and to create a healthier environment where ideas can be exchanged and we can all learn from each other. Feedback is more than welcome.

Love this thread!
You are absolutely right about this and that we need to work on improvements. It takes teamwork too. Everyone should be on the same page to seek to engage in a civil manner. Otherwise how can we achieve our goal?

Humanity has become too stupid for meaningful dialog. Just look at debates over the last 200 years and see the obvious decline in intelligence over this time. Restoring civil dialog would require a major increase in human intelligence which would require most of humanity to die off followed by eugenic selection promoted by religion. This process happened in Europe between 1300 and 1800.

The cause of people being disconnected from each other is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that they are eating from which means they have a very strong delusion within their minds that cause them fear. Once all the minds are cleansed of that strong delusion and start eating from the Tree of Life, we will all get along but that won't happen until the delusion of each mind experiencing life in human form on a visible planet that we call Earth has been removed from each mind.

This is a good example as to why there is so much conflict in internet dialogue these days This example above where the person unconsciously is convinced that their deeply religiously manipulated opinion and viewpoint is obviously THE facts And don't even hesitate for a second let alone contemplate from a different perspective . So many people these days are in a kind of confident autopilot which has created a verbal bumper cars at Chuck-E-Cheese Style situation out of what should of been a nismo Spanish Alps event

It's because everyone is eating of the forbidden fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that confuses them with their thoughts and visible images they observe. This keeps them from understanding what the Tree of Life is.

"Let's fix it" sounds nice, but just facts of how to agree one side with the other is not only an extra labor.
Actually, it seems to be a fairly tale to perform it. You can force or do it intentionally to make a person agree or something. No, either it's natural and fair, or it's another tyranny that masks behind another "heaven for all".
Many such utopias were presented over the history by writers or philosophers, but they were and left u-topias – the things with no real places.
Look, all one can do is stop making real insanity, i.e. enormous power, greed, etc and start being honestly with himself. What if a person thinks he's a traitor or a joker? What if one wants blood instead of fun and living happily with the other ones? It could be.
So, the less metaphysically things you do, the more hope you're on the right way. If one wishes let him take a look around and if he's agreed – to help those who's worth to get it.
