Sharing what you have learnt with your family either through DNA or Family Tree. Have they understood or just rolled their eyes? Have you made a file which can be passed onto a member of your family

I just remember it from some ancestry-book a relative had filled with information.

That's good you have someone who made references to your family history. Would you like to know more or find out if you can get hold of the book. I just love my Family History and Genetics as I think both augment each other.

Would this imply that you have exciting ancestors? I suspect all, or almost all, my ancestors back to the black plague were Norwegians with rather boring jobs. Farmers, shoemakers, fishermen, lumberjacks, or whatever.

Not all were exciting, as you say some had boring jobs and were as poor as church mice but I did find out some interesting ones. One was murdered a way back and I found the Court case, made for a great insight into the Justice system. Another my 3rd great aunt married a Parker and was part of the Mormons group to settle in Utah, it was most interesting reading all the diaries they kept on the Wagon Trail. So you see to build up a picture of your families history can be fantastic and sad at times too. I will leave it there for today as I have to go for now.

That reminds me. I know some of my ancestors emigrated to the US. I have no idea what happened to them after that.

My mother is adopted and for the longest time knew barely anything about her biological family. Then I started getting interested in my my ancestry and I used my magnificent detective to skills to find both her mother and father. So my mother was very thankful to me for finding them.

Not an easy job finding someone in an Adoption situation. I bet she was pleased, have you done more work re researching your family members?

Thank you. Right now I don't even have the needed information to start such a search.
