If someone you loved was killed in front of you, but someone created a copy of them that was perfect right down to the atomic level, would they be the same person and would you love them just as much?

Would that person even remember his/her past life? Let's do two scenerios. What if the copy does remember the past what would you say? And when the copy doesn't remember the past what would you say? Case 1: Copy remembers past life: Well, I would still love the person, but again, there will always be seed of confusion in my mind. Because, this is not a biological birth, but rather a genetic cloning which has happened. Howsoever technology advances, humans would not able to produce an exact replica of someone who has taken birth by biological means. So, here, I would be a bit dicey to love. My feelings would not be the same once it used to be. Case 2: Copy don't remember: This bit is simple. I can start fresh, approach the person with a new angle. So, I would love them even more dearly, because, I lost the person once, but, they have come back to me, and that too, with a new birth, as they don't remember anything about their past life.

Also, when someone remembers the past life, then, they would be attached to that. And if copy remember the past life, along with the new life which they got, they would themselves be in a dilemma.
But, if someone does not remember anything, then it is a new birth.
Now I know, why in lot of tales of indo-european civilization, it is always said that rebirth happens, but people to have to carry their previous life, but they must not remember their past life.

If the new copied person has the same thoughts, feelings and act like the person who was killed, so I think that I can consider as being the same person and try to forget what happened.

Let's say every second a thousand cells are replaced, at one point would you stop loving the copy? BTW, I'm talking about the " ship of Theseus" paradox.

Most of the body cells are replaced several times during life, so your choice is limited to an older or a newer copy.
