Yes, I know. It's to update it to 4.3.4, unless you already got that version. If you start playonlinux and then click help - about, you'll see what version that's installed. Linux Mint is sometimes behind, and doesn't necessarily install the latest version of a software. So sometimes you need to update it yourself.

karl , I got another game I installed on my computer from Lutris that won't launch. Its Civilization IV, and tinkering with the configuration hasn't helped at all.
[Edit] Nvm. I figured out what I was doing wrong. I had to run the .exe I wanted in the wine prefix option. Also had to change prefix architecture to 32-bit. Plus I had to fix an error with directory paths.

I booted up my second computer where I have Linux Mint installed on one of its hard drives (I use Manjaro on my main computer) and installed Civilization 4 from a DVD using both Playonlinux and a separate Wine version made for Mint. In both cases I got an error message when trying to launch the game. The error message was: "Failed to initialize renderer". I tried an earlier wine version in Playonlinux (wine 3.03), and also to install directx 9, but nothing works.
Oh, now I see your edit. Well, excellent. That means you got it to work, while I didn't.
