Since I don't believe consciousness could ever be produced by algorithms, one would have to identity and reverse engineer the biological processes in the brain that produce consciousness. My guess is that this will not happen anytime soon. If it happens, it will be as unethical as it would be dangerous.

I don't like this. Even though consciousness can't be made like that, this is not ok. Not only is it not ok but dangerous and unethical. So just must stop. Robots are scary enough and have said scary threatening things to humans already...a biorobot will just add to the problems.
