My answer is no, they are Marcionists. True Christianity tries to follow Jesus's example as described in the Gospels, and considers the Old Testament to be part of the Bible. Modern Protestants reject the Old Testament and mostly ignore Jesus's life, instead focusing on Paul's claims describing "Christ" after Jesus's death. I don't consider this to be Christianity. It is much closer to Marcionism.

It is really hard to follow step by step for Jesus' commandments. According to Bible at the end of times there will left just some churches. That's why modern protestants can be mentioned as the followers by Christ's.
There have been many speculations around Christianity, but the protestants (I mean the branches that are dominant in USA) still continue to confess Bible and this position is clever.

I believe the fullness of truth can only be found in the Orthodox Church. Now with that being said, I'm very hesitant to sweep all Protestants under the label of non-Christians. Everyone is given a certain amount of light and I believe we are judged according to our deeds and how faithful to whatever amount of light we were given. Many protestants are very sincere in their faith and may die never knowing about the Orthodox Church. I like to think that God doesn't hold that against them. But fschmidt , Most Protestants are very far from being Marcionists. Marcion went as far as to say that the God of the Old Testament and the God of the New Testament were two different Gods, the former being evil. Most Protestants recognize that the God of Moses and the God of the Apostles is one in the same God. Protestants generally don't reject the Old Testament, but assert that Mosaic covenant was fufilled in Christ and we are under a New covenent, which is the same position held by the Orthodox Church. Paul is a legitimate Apostle, who had his apostleship confirmed by the other apostles. His words however are often misinterpreted by those who want to reject his authority.

Just those who follow the bible only since it's God's Word are doing what God asks. The rest are just...well...idk what they're doing.
