In my post Steps in Life I suggested choosing a religion for yourself first and then choosing a religion to associate with. This order is wrong. The first step for every decent person should be to start attending a sex-segregated religious service. Why sex-segregated? Because this shows that the religion is resistant to depraved modern culture. To those who argue that sex-segregation isn't required in your scripture, I suggest that you stop breathing since breathing isn't required in your scripture either. The need to segregate the sexes is as obvious as the need to breathe. Why must this come first? Because it is critical for you to find other people in real life who aren't scum. All members of modern western culture, without exception, are scum. The only place where you can find people who aren't scum is in a religion that resists modern culture, as demonstrated by sex-segregation. This isn't to say that such a religion won't also contain scum, or even that the majority won't be scum, but at least you will find some people who aren't scum. And this is the critical point. Having a few people in real life to talk to who aren't scum is absolutely critical, and this should be the first thing that you should find.

fschmidtSex segregation is an external solution to an internal problem. My religion addresses the internal problem making the external solution obsolete. Men and women are not segregated in my church, but we are a moral God-fearing people. You should not blanket label everyone in the west as scum, but rather focus on your own sins. You are a personification of an antithesis against a thesis which will only serve to yield a synthesis of the two opposing ideologies. Its all Hegelian dialectic. There's a higher agenda at work here in which you are just a pawn.

KGrim It has been many years since I have seen any evidence of any goodness in modern scum (members of modern culture). Using indicutive reasoning, I think I can safely say that they are all scum. Just because I may occasionally sin doesn't put me on the same level as these scum who simply deserve the same fate as Sodom and Gomorrah. There should never be a synthesis of good and evil. As Amos 5:15 says "Hate evil and love good, and establish judgement in the gate."

As Amos 5:15 says "Hate evil and love good, and establish judgement in the gate." Two men went up to the temple to pray. One a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, 'God, I thank You that I am not like other men -- extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.' And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me a sinner!' I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exults himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted. (Luke 18:10-14)

(Luke 18:10-14) God, I thank You that I am not Christian. I hate the above quote. That said, it still doesn't apply to modern scum who are totally unrepentant.

Your Married Status shows that you do not practice the segregation of the sexes. Should you not join a religion whose very priests are against such a segregation? (Sorry. Nothing personal against you.)
