I knew that coffee in Brazil is produced by slavery even in the modern era. The plantation owners lure people from the impoverished west of the country with promises of good wages and benefits and then proceed to treat them like cattle/work mules and put them through hell to produce coffee.

I freaking love my coffee. But not at the expense of others. I need to check where my coffee comes from.

I'm not ok with slavery at all. Only those who are willing to work to get something out of it. So if kids want to work to save up money for a toy or future car then it's fine with me. And even if they're adults no forcing to work. If they want to be homeless and die then they have that right too.

The industrial revolution was the period when children started to go to work. The Machine was invented and the running of work no longer needed a strong hand. Factory and company owners hired children and at times preferred them to men, because they demanded lower pay.
