The Parliament of Catalonia voted for a resolution declaring independence from Spain.
A resolution was made by radical left party "the Candidacy of national unity" (CUP) and the coalition "Together for Yes," was supported by 72 deputies, it was opposed by ten, another two were thrown into the ballot box blank ballots.
Deputies of the opposition factions before the meeting, left the room, because they consider the vote illegal.
"Catalonia becomes an independent state in the form of Republic", — is spoken in the resolution. The document also proclaims "the construction of a Catalan Republic as independent, sovereign, legal, democratic and social state".
Just resolution 17 points, including "Promoting the conclusion of a Treaty on dual citizenship with Spain", "Promotion for all States recognition of the Catalan Republic", "Develop proposals on the allocation of assets and liabilities between Catalonia and Spain".
An hour later, after voting in Barcelona, the Spanish Senate has introduced a 155-th article of the Constitution. Within its framework, the government proposes to remove from office the Catalan government (Generalitat) and within six months to announce early elections to the regional Parliament. Until the functions of the Catalan government will be fulfilled by the representatives of the Central authorities.
Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said the decision of the Catalan Parliament a criminal offence. "We are not prepared for the fact that there are people who want to eliminate our Constitution. The government will react", — he said, assuring the Catalans that "all will be well, moderately and efficiently."
A referendum on Catalan independence took place on 1 October, voted for independence 90,18% of voters with a turnout of 43,03%. The Central government referendum is not recognized.
