Catalonia declared independence Friday. The Spanish government reacted quickly. Most of the members of the Catalonian parliament were ridded of their seats and 150 public service workers lost their jobs in the process. They were warned that they will face charges if they try to keep their positions. Carles Puigdemont and his vice president were removed from office. Spanish prime minister Mariano Rajoy has declared that there will be a new election to the region of Catalonia, which is no longer autonomous, according to decree from the Spanish government. New election date - who cares really, this will probably be a fake election - is set to 21 December.
