Hey Everyone, I am working on a project and a wrote something I want to share. If you've got a minute give it a read and let me know what you think if you have it in you.
B or C, I go for the B by Robert Peters
I was dumped into a spot long post "the split" Itchy fingers at the ready, the match's lit! Epi as O2, designed only for the quick sprint. But any respite showing nothing close to a glint.
Under your desk! Under your bed! Cover your eyes! Cover your head! 7 to midnight when I hit the ground at a run. How do I take the next breath? The next one?
Duck and cover! Don't look at the flash! Cross your fingers 'cause there is no hope at this bash!
I grew numb within my atomic fears. Pain explained with glory. Derision for any tears. In that pain and those fears I found It's just one of many things destined to put me 6 feet down.
I found that same hate I was told to hold, Populating every interaction within the fold Those same hands that held the match and bomb Also held that hate towards the smallest qualm.
"I'm stronger than you, you ain't squat!" "Faggot! Pussy!," you know the plot. Digging at any scab, consequences be damned "It is for me! I'm sorry, I'm the MAN!"
Duck and cover! Don't look at the flash! Cross your fingers 'cause there is no hope at this bash!
I grew trying to live with my societal fears, Pain explained with glory, derision for my tears. In that pain and those fears I found It's just one of many things destined to put me 6 feet down.
A shove away from hearth and home Frozen, broke, broken and alone "Freeze! Stop!" "Boy, what the fuck ya doin'?!" "That's for customers only!" "Get goin'!"
Nowhere safe. Nowhere close to "ok". 2 weeks behind the bleachers, nowhere to stay. Any kindness only a glimmer or toothy tug Close to "ok" became my drive, very much a drug.
Duck and cover! Don't look at the flash! Cross your fingers 'cause there is no hope at this bash!
I grew trying to live with my immediate fears Pain explained with glory. Derision for tears. In that pain and those fears I found It's just one of the countless things destined to put me 6 feet down
120 ticks now and no one fucking cares. It's the weight minus 5 minutes in 50 years All I've done, my conscience always close at my side, Changed nothing, not a thing and I still have a need to hide.
Every beat ticking now that wouldn't of has resulted in being no closer to "ok". No love. The countdown most on my train is strongly at 5 Still questioning the next breath keeping me alive.
Duck and cover! Don't look at the flash! Cross your fingers 'cause there is no hope at this bash!
I grew trying to live with my life-long fears Pain explained simply away, long since any tears. In that pain and those fears I found It's just one of many things destined to put me 6 feet down
I believe, I hope that people are basically good. That they want to do what they know they should. 'Cause all that's come from eras of such huge change Is increased isolation, lack of D, and societal mange.
We're off our knuckles but all that's come since Is totally negated by Epi's systemic consequence. If you not close to "ok" then how can you care? About tomorrow, the atoms, the fucking air?
It's out there and believe me I'd pray if it'd do good! But prayers and good wishes made of wood. A nice idea but neither even need a twitch. What is needed is to turn off that fucking switch!
Duck and cover! Don't look at the flash! Cross your fingers 'cause there is no hope at this bash!
We've all grown trying to live with Epi and similar fears Glory always explaining pain. Derision for any tears. In that pain and those fears can be found A way closer to "ok", and a way to keep your feet on the ground...
Good luck out there

Do you write poetry a lot? It was written very well. It's also written in AABB kind of way that I like writting poetry in. And what made you decide to write this?

Hey Elizabeth, Nice to chat with you again. Thanks for the kindness. It is part of a project and is written as a song though no music has yet been worked. It is the culmination of a lot I've been thinking about and working on. Thanks, Good luck out there Elizabeth (Sorry Elder Queen Elizabeth curtsey attached)
