A side by side comparison of Roman Catholic teachings and Biblical doctrine. Roman Catholic Teachings
1)The bishops, with the pope as their head, rule the universal Church.
2)God has entrusted revelation to the bishops.
3)The pope is infallible in his teaching.
4)Scripture and Tradition together are the Word of God.
5)Mary is the co-redeemer, for she participated with Christ in the painful act of redemption.
6)Mary is the co-mediator, to whom we can entrust all our cares and petitions.
7)Initial justification is by means of baptism.
8)Adults must prepare for justification through faith and good works.
9)Grace is merited by good works.
10)Salvation is attained by cooperating with grace through faith, good works, and participation in the sacraments.
11)No one can know if he will attain to eternal life.
12)The Roman Catholic Church is necessary for salvation.
13)Christ's body and blood exist wholly and entirely in every fragment of consecrated bread and wine in every Roman Catholic church around the world.
14)The sacrifice of the cross is perpetuated in the sacrifice of the Mass.
15)Each sacrifice of the Mass appeases God's wrath against sin.
16)The sacrificial work of redemption is continually carried out through the sacrifice of the Mass.
| Biblical Doctrine
1)Christ, the head of the body, rules the universal church (Colossians 1:18).
2)God has entrusted revelation to the saints (Jude 3).
3)God alone is infallible (Numbers 23:19; Acts 17:11).
4)Scripture alone is the Word of God (John 10:35; 2 Timothy 3:16,17; 2 Peter 1:20,21; Mark 7:1-13).
5)Christ alone is the Redeemer, for He alone suffered and died for sin (1 Peter 1:18,19).
6)Christ Jesus is the one mediator to whom we can entrust all our cares and petitions (1 Timothy 2:5; John 14:13,14; 1 Peter 5:7).
7)Justification is by faith alone (Romans 3:28).
8)God justifies ungodly sinners who believe (Romans 4:5). Good works are the result of salvation, not the cause (Ephesians 2:8-10).
9)Grace is a free gift (Romans 11:6).
10)Salvation is attained by grace through faith apart from works (Ephesians 2:10).
11)The believer can know that he has eternal life by the Word of God and the testimony of the Holy Spirit who indwells believers (1 John 5:13; Romans 8:16).
12)There is salvation in no one but the Lord Jesus Christ, “for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
13)The bread and wine are symbols of the body and blood of Christ, and He is bodily present in heaven (1 Corinthians 11:23-25; Hebrews 10:12,13).
14)The sacrifice of the cross is finished (John 19:30).
15)The once-for-all sacrifice of the cross fully appeased God's wrath against sin (Hebrews 10:12-18).
16)The sacrificial work of redemption was finished when Christ gave His life for us on the cross (Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 1:3). |

The church which you belong to has nothing to do with getting into Heaven.
The truth is this…
The only ones who are going to inherit The Kingdom, are the ones who are friends with the man who holds the keys , for He’s only letting his friends inside.

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
John 15:15-16 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you.

So are you a sheep or a goat? I adhere to scripture. I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that died for my sins and the sins of the whole world, that His blood is payment for my sins, that He was buried and rose again, that He is my Redeemer, that no man will come unto the Father but by Him as He is the only way to heaven. Am I a sheep or a goat? You tell me. Judge not lest you be judged... From what I have observed you claim that Catholics/Orthodox are going to hell. The Catholics/Orthodox argue that protestants can go to heaven too. You tell me which is more merciful and Christian

Why? “You tell me which is more merciful and Christian” Scripture says if you don’t believe on the Son of God you are not going to heaven. The CCC says you must be a member of the Catholic Church to be saved shrug The orthodox pray(prayer is the highest form of worship) to images which is idolatry shrug God made rules for us to adhere by in His word shrug You seem to be confusing tolerance with mercy.

The keys to heaven are in the words Jesus taught. He's the way so He's the permanent key.

Unbelief cannot and will not conquer God's mercy.

Matthew 16:19 19I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." Revelation 1:18 18I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades. God, according to scripture, can give the keys to who he wants if at all.

This is why Jesus reminded everyone that false apostles will arise. Judas was false and then Paul said Peter was false tesching what Jesus didn't teach. Evil people are also in God's plans...for hell.

And what is false worship considering, as observed above the Catholic/Orthodox are following scripture (the foundations of their faiths, the sacraments, are all scriptural so it is not a perversion of tradition in the respect man created it). Elizabeth, if you take the sola scriptura approach, you are not even allowed to be preaching or teaching scripture...you understand you are not following your own beliefs?

Considering Peter always existed in God's plan, as everything is always present to him....is what you say really the case? Evil people are also in God's plans...for hell. So God's plan means nothing? Or did Judas have meaning because God use this deficiency of goodness (evil) and transformed it?
