It's not a stupid question I promise  . How long does it take for history to be created meaning put into history books? Does it take a whole year for history books to start mentioning a recent war or how long until we get it written down in the books? (Not internet but textbooks and things) |

As soon as people can start making money from it usually.
Commercial books on recent developments in North Korea always come very fast, often within months if not weeks of the events happening. There's already books out about Trump's attempt to forge a deal with Kim Jong Un and that hasn't even finished playing out yet. On the other hand, far fewer people would be interested in the economic situation of Turkistan down the ages so it could be another fifty years if not much longer before an academic turns their hands to it.

(Not internet but textbooks and things) This should be read all your life! History is the past and not the future. We must always look to the future not the past anyway.
