Like we chose chicken for example. But why not a snail or something? Surely, a snail is easier to catch to cook it even

Well there is escargot. I’ve never had it and don’t know if I want to try it but yea some cultures eat dogs, cats, rats, horses, locusts, scorpions, frogs, etc. I heard dog tastes pretty good, but never had it myself. I’m thinking some cultures eat animals that others don’t because there was probably a point in time where that was all they had to eat or they’d starve.

It depends on many things: Culture, religion, and your body + stomach. For example, some people eat frogs but that's a disgusting food for the others.
