Scholars say that Plato made up the story to make a point about morality. I believe the story is true and would like to argue in Plato’s favor. I have found physical evidence that supports Plato’s claim. I have located the small Island of Atlantis. To visit it, follow the map links below. Remember that, according to Plato, the island was 1/2 mile across. It was also surrounded by three zones of water and two zones of land. Based on the map image, how would you interpret Plato’s description? Will it look like this goo.gl/maps/bDApyQfGnWN2or like this? www.quora.com/What-did-Atlantis-look-likeRemember that Plato knew nothing about North America. Why is the circular model unrealistic? There is also other evidence to support Plato’s claim.

Plato's dialogues are fulfilled with myths; Protagoras, Horche, Menon... and Socrates personally claimed so many stories, that it's not easy to say which is true. Atlantis was a legendary island, but it could have a prototype certainly. The problem is not to find just the island, but at least some artifacts of the culture. I'd say this task is more harder. I agree that artifacts make the best evidence, but finding the Island is the first big step.
