Hello I'm a new member here so please don't hate if I made this post in the wrong place :P "Though it was disputed for many years, there is conclusive evidence that Neanderthals bred with modern humans (Homo sapiens). The first complete mapping of a Neanderthal genome took place about five years ago - supporting the human-Neanderthal hook-up and also showing that Neanderthal DNA in humans is a thing. One study showed that non-African people have approximately 1 to 4 percent Neanderthal DNA. And two more studies show that collectively, the Neanderthal DNA percentage in modern humans today is about 20%. Those genes have an influence on a range of areas: hair, skin, and disease. The amount of Neanderthal DNA in modern humans is not huge, but it has had a very important impact. Characteristics obtained from Neanderthal DNA may have actually been the key to the survival of Homo sapiens. Genes such as ones which provided an advantage in difficult climates would have certainly been useful." Comparison of Modern Human and Neanderthal skulls from the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.

I have read this article honestthinking.org/en/pub/Fjordman.2010.06.08.Neanderthals_and_high_IQ.htmHuman numbers had already been on the increase since the advent of behavioral modernity, partly as the result of migration into the far northern regions of Asia, over the sea into Australia, and across a land bridge into the Americas – all places that archaic humans had been unable to settle – and partly because of improvements in food production technology (such as nets and bows). An educated guess puts the total population of the world 100,000 years ago at half a million, counting both anatomically modern humans in Africa and archaic humans (Neanderthals and evolved erectus) in Eurasia. By the end of the Ice Age some 12,000 years ago, there may have been as many as 6 million modern humans – still hunter-gatherers, but far more sophisticated and effective hunter-gatherers than ever before. Farming, which produces 10 to 100 times more calories per acre than foraging, carried this trend further. Over the period from 10,000 BC to AD 1, the world population increased approximately a hundredfold (estimates range from 40 to 170 times). That growth in itself transformed society – sometimes, quantity has a quality all its own.

That growth in itself transformed society – sometimes, quantity has a quality all its own. That is a very interesting article, except for one omission:the distinction between General Intelligence (which can be measured -- hence IQ) and Creative or Genial Intelligence, which cannot be measured or exhibited on demand. Historical Tribes or Peoples are distinguishable by the material and intellectual cultures they create in the world, for themselves: agriculture, architecture, poetry, visual and auditory arts, philosophy, science, medicine, power tools and vehicles, etc. Humans come in races: somatic and cerebral races. The future of Man depends on the genial intelligence of some men, not on their IQ.
