I have been working on and off of the dinosaur valley archaeology quests for years (since I first got access to them) because of how challenging it is to find all the pieces. I really want the rewards - so I am trying to get back in. I've been circling dino valley for almost 3 hours now (for the unusual skeleton) and i've only gotten 4 out of 11 pieces I still need.
Am I just really unlucky? Is this normal in your experience? How long did it take you guys to finish this skeleton?

Yep it is super tedious and frustrating. Especially because of how dense the forests are, the rocks are well hidden. The sparkles are easily confused with snow flurries and you don't get the archaeology message until you're super close to them.

I've had archaeology since Dino Valley came out and I'm still not done. I still have one skeleton left, the one in the forest, and I'm just so not motivated to go there. This is a little off topic, but I haven't even started Epona archaeology and I've had that since it was available too.

Yeah, I don't like that there isn't a specific place to go. I don't like wandering aimlessly.Good news is that I've continued searching since I started this post, and I found 4 more pieces of the unusual and a bunch for the spectacular (that I plan to do next).

Makes me think of something in my city zoo. We have a place where they purposely bury dino bones (fake I'm sure) but kids have fun digging them up and putting the dinos together. But new discoveries are great and it's good we have museums and stuff to preserve them in.
