If you could change events in history what would you change and why? Here is my list.
The Anglo Saxons defeat the Normans at Hastings: I much prefer the Anglo Saxon language and culture to the changes made by the Normans after conquering England. I consider it a great shame that Anglo Saxon culture died the way it did.
The South Wins the Civil War or Secedes Peacefully: I would rather the south be its own nation than to be tied to the liberal Yankees. Slavery would last longer but that's the Souths problem to deal with and none of the Yankees business.
Muhammad Dies as a Baby: No Islam, North Africa remains Christian.
The Nationalists beat the Communists in China: Then you'd get a first world China.
The Communists are Defeated in Russian Revolution: I hate Communism.
Hitler Dies as a Baby: The genocidal freak never kills six million Jews as well as many others.
Brian Boru Unites Ireland: Thus Ireland is a unified country that stands up to and is never conquered by England.
Rhodesia Survives: Rhodesia was racist as crap but it was sure better than Mugabe Zimbabwe.
The Afrikaners Get a State: to Avoid whats happening now in South Africa.
The USA Annexes Cuba: The Southern States wanted to conquer Cuba and add it as a Slave State to the Union. I would love to move to a first world Cuba and live.
Quebec gets its Independence in the 90's: I don't think that unlike nations should be put together under one government.
Constantinople Never Falls to the Turks: This was a tragedy of the highest order.
The Southern States and Northern States go their Separate Ways from the Start: The South and the North following the American Revolution part ways and each form their own separate Unions. We should have never been tied to the Yankees in the first place.
Brazil Stays a Monarchy: Brazil had the potential to be a first world country before their monarchy was overthrown.
Tibet Never Gets Invaded by China: They had such an interesting culture. It was like a Medieval feudal kingdom frozen in time in the 1950's and then Mao ruined it.
New England Secedes in War of 1812: good riddance to you.
Kurt Cobain Never Shoots Himself: Dude had good music.
These are some of the things I can think of. If I had to pick just one from this list it would be the North and South going their separate ways after the American Revolution.
