Many say Eve ate an apple but the bible does not support this answer. It just says she ate a fruit from a tree. It does not tell us the fruit. Genesis 3 6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
So what fruit do you think it was? Or hope it was?
We were once drawing this tree in Sunday school (either 7th, 8th, 9th grade) and we were told to imagine the garden and make the fruit whatever we wanted it to be that Eve bit and gave her husband. So this was what I wished the fruit to be when talking with a friend in Sunday school class.
Me: I think it was a pear. I like pears better than apples.
Him: I think it was a watermelon.
Me: No....it wasn't.
Him: Why? You want it to be a pear because you like pears. I like watermelons so why can't it be a watermelon?
Me: Watermelons don't grow on trees.
....silence....

Several years ago I read the theory that it was a fruit of grapes!

I bet it was a fig.
Can't have been an apple. Apples are too recently cultivated, and aren't native to the the regions typically associated with the Garden of Eden's location.
Figs on the other hand...

In the Quran it is mentioned that Adam and Eve ate from the forbidden tree (without naming the tree), and without telling who initiated the disobedience. They both did it.

The truth is that this tree was not mentioned in the Bible because the nature of this tree was mystical and unfathomable to the human mind....I mean for the modern human mind.

...An abandoned or forbidden tree... It sounds similar to Zoroastrism.
(i) I think the fruit wasn't fruitful. What fruits are not fruitful? Firstly, the fruit f wasn't fruitful for God, was it? Why He cursed the tree? I don't believe that the tree's been having some negative mystical abilities. Secondly, the Woman saw 'good for food 'n' pleasant for eyes the fruit', so, could it mean that something good for food could be bad for God? And why on Earth woman searched for food? Was she hungry? She took the fruit also because it was good for eyes. Is Heaven not enough good?
(ii) Ok, I think there was something confusing, embarrassment for her. So, probably God wanted to suspect them from something confusing. This fruit could change them once and for all.
Hence, good for food, good for eyes, a forbidden tree, a confusing fruit, the fruit that could change a person once and for all... What could it be?.. Maybe, marijuana for eating??..

Shame, shame :/ I think because it is generally believed that women suggest for their husbands what to do, that people are reflecting the same idea on Adam and Eve's disobedience. Nothing to tell us who did it first or who suggested it to the other...

I don't think it matters who disobeyed first but who disobeyed in general. If a parents finds her 2 kids drawing all over the walls when they know only to use paper...the parent doesn't ask who did it first. They just see who disobeyed and punish them.
