International Holocaust Remembrance Day - is celebrated on January 27. Established by the UN General Assembly on November 1, 2005 (Resolution No. 60/7). The initiators of the adoption of the document were Israel, Canada, Australia, Russia, Ukraine, the United States, and their co-authors - more than 90 countries. The date of January 27 was chosen because on that day the Soviet troops liberated the Auschwitz concentration camp (the territory of present-day Poland).

In addition, 74 years ago, the blockade of Leningrad was lifted! This is an important date in the fight against German Nazism!
