greatestiam actually DKTrav88 and I do not agree with or support Martin Luther at all. So we probably won't argue with you about his beliefs. He had it all messed up. Faith without facts is still for fools who do not want to face the truth.
Regards DL
Ok so where are your facts that God doesn't exist. Even scientists argue over this. So present the facts or your faith for no God is for fools too?

Do you know what a logical fallacy or reverse onus is?
Learn what it is and go try it on fools as they are the only ones who will bite.
I have a link if you need it.

So let's say that guy was one of your sons instead. You'd still help me nail him? From the way you described your encounter, I think I would be fair in giving him whatever punishment you found fair. That is what impact reports given to judges is all about. It allows for mercy and even forgiveness sometimes without having to nail someone.

This doesn't teach him the correct way though. It just punishes him. You do realize that this won't help right? Normally people released from jail return to same habits. Clearly, something is done wrong.

What he said reminds me of Acts 17:18 But it seems he does not understand that faith isn't the result of logical reasoning, or maybe he knows that and just wishes to make those who have faith look like fools, but we have 1 Corinthians 1:18-25 to tell us this is what happens to believers. I am well aware of what faith is thought of by Christianity. Both new and old.
Here is the new and the old follows as a part of something I wrote of Martin Luther.
imgur.com/IBroXK9
Faith closes the mind. It is pure idol worship.
Faith is a way to quit using, "God given" power of Reason and Logic, and cause the faithful to embrace doctrines that moral people reject.
The God of the OT says, “Come now, and let us reason together,” [Isaiah 1:18]
How can literalists reason on God when they must ignore reason and logic and discard them when turning into literalist?
Those who are literalists can only reply somewhat in the fashion that Martin Luther did. “Faith must trample under foot all reason, sense, and understanding.” “Reason is a whore, the greatest enemy that faith has.”
This attitude effectively kills all worthy communication that non-theists can have with theist. Faith closes their mind as it is pure idol worship.
Literalism is an evil practice that hides the true messages of myths. We cannot show our faith based friends that they are wrong through their faith colored glasses. Their faith also plugs their ears.
Regards DL
You aren't talking to a literalist and I won't speak for them.

What is this truth that those who have faith do not want to face? You keep harping on this but have yet to elaborate.

If a Muslim goes to a mosque, it may make them happy. If X goes to a temple, it may make them happy. If XYZ oes to a party, it may make them happy. Churches are not important here, what happens in them are important.

You will see me use offensive language when talking about God. I try to take it a bit easier when talking to Christians about themselves.
I hear you as saying you were not being the best and loving Christian you could be because you were trying to correct poor thinking. Keep these two quotes in mind when you are thinking in that foolish way. No insult meant with using that word.
Proverbs 3:12 For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
Jordan Peterson In order to be able to think, you have to risk being offensive.
Do not take offence from those you try to correct when they do not get it. They are the brainwashed ones and not you.
Remember as well that Gnostic Christians, as well as Jesus, the thinking Christians as compared to the sheeple, were all persecuted by the church. Do not expect them to thank you for doing the right thing.
Regards DL
Ho-ho! Hooray! I see you love Peterson! I know the guy. Cool one. No, no grudges! It's hard to offend me. You should believe me, or if you're not you can ask about this from any of our members, they'll confirm my words. I see Christians as the same people who's holding to some word-object ideology. The word-object ideology is a path to hold views that are there are some word pass code, and if you know it, they recognize you. So, comparing them to gnosticism - yes, that's right. But, do be careful, you might harm someone, and the pain on their souls won't be erased easily. A human wants to believe in something or a someone. One of people chose Jesus, and some chose Peterson. As for me - there's no difference, because if I'd have offended someone, regardless of his views I would harm him. And why to use forces? Even feminists deserve some attention, and they need to be heard also. Peterson don't give 'em to even open their mouth. His ways are rude, and I don't think that the way that he preaches is decent. And why on Earth I need to compare 'Christians'? Have you seen one? I see people, 'Christians' is a way they want to be named. That's all. Bear this last proposition into your mind, because none won't listen to you until you've heard the one.

I did. My belief is that you have given a logical fallacy and reverse onus.
You might want to look up the terms as I asked.
You do not have an issue.

If you think he can be, then it is you to suggest how in your victim statement.

I see a lot of harm to society coming out of the churches and mosques if we are talking of mostly the mainstream homophobic and misogynous religions like Christianity and Islam.
