...accept Jesus as the Messiah? Are they just hoping for a cruel warrior to arise?

God is the Creator for me. But the followers of Talmudic Judaism have no connection with the God of Abraham. A simple example, even Maimonides(authority of Judaism) did not know the Kabbalah is evident from his works! I believe Hashem is God's name.
I don't believe anyone has the authority to overturn His laws.
You can have your New Testament if you want.
The Torah speaks of Yahweh but I understand the logic of the Judaists. In any case, the Scripture does not say -Hashem - It is mentioned in Midrash but this not Torah! Laws? Prophets and even other rabbis did not write about these laws until the 13th century. Are you followers of the Chabad movement?

Isn't the coming of the Messiah and His purpose, where He is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises (because if that first covenant had been faultless, then there should be no reason for the second) prophesied here in Jeremiah 31? Jeremiah 31:31-34 31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord: 33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

In case you did not know, different Torahs may have a different name for God. Yahweh and Jehovah I have seen in "Bibles".
I have The Stone Edition Tanach from artscroll.com
Moses was a Prophet and I believe he wrote about the laws thousands of years ago, since he is credited with writing the Torah. I don't think the original Torah is with us today...

The name of God most often used in the Hebrew Bible is the Tetragrammaton (YHWH יהוה). It is frequently anglicized as Jehovah and Yahweh and written in most English editions of the Bible as "the Lord" owing to the Jewish tradition viewing the divine name as increasingly too sacred to be uttered. It was thus replaced vocally in the synagogue ritual by the Hebrew word Adonai (“My Lords”), which was translated as Kyrios (“Lord”) in the Septuagint, the Greek version of the Hebrew scriptures. I'm more interested in where the ancient sources mention the tradition to call the Adonai this term - Hashem - Hashem - it's -His name- in Hebrew if I'm not mistaken.

Go ahead and eat shrimp, lobster, rabbit, and all those other meats that are described as unclean and an abomination if you want.
I think Hashem knows more about biology then a human biologist.
You say your religion is Old Testament, yet you don't want to obey the laws in it...ALL of them...
Show me where it says that these laws are eternal. It doesn't because shellfish were unclean at that time but are no longer unclean now that we have refrigeration. Refrigeration doesn't solve the problem with pork, so that is still an issue. Also note that in the rest of the Old Testament after the Torah, the only dietary law that is discussed is pork. Anyway, the Old Testament is not a law book. The word "torah" means teaching. The Old Testament is a book to teach ethics. I believe Hashem is God's name. I suggest you learn some Hebrew. "Ha-shem" means "the name". "Ha" is "the" and "shem" is "name". Orthodox Judaism believes that the rabbis have all authority and can make any laws they want. Orthodox Judaism violates the Torah in many ways. Here is a book and a video for you: www.amazon.com/Jewish-History-Religion-Thousand-Political-ebook/dp/B00GGOEL4A/

In the book of Malachi, which is the last book in the Tanach, Hashem tells Israel to keep the laws given to them through Moses, lest He destroy the Earth.
That means those laws are STILL in effect today.
We are waiting for Hashem to execute judgment on the wicked, which COULD include ALL of humankind.
You have God in the Old Testament saying we must keep the law and you have someone in the NT coming later who is certainly NOT God telling you that you can leave those laws behind.
Who are you going to obey? The Creator telling you that you shall not eat the forbidden fruit or the snake that tells you that you can? The choice is yours. Choose wisely.

Judaism followers
There's a prophesy of the Messiah riding on an ox. When will your Messiah do this and how do you think?

Also, Malachi is the last book in the Christian ordering, not in the Jewish ordering. My Tanach has the book in the back. I have heard from one Jew that it isn't the last book, but that is one opinion that isn't supported by my book.
