I'm no apologist for religion, but Dawkin's haste to defend his ideology has left him with a very impoverished view of human culture and individual experience. Shame, for a while I thought that guy was going places.

I have not read the book, I know my mom has a copy and as an atheist loves the book and has pushed it my way a few times. My mother like Dawkins is very critical on people with religious views and in turn has made me of the liking of Dawkins but instead defensive about religion. As a man known to be based on research he often times fails to see if there is any evidence backing the bible and is quick to jump onto things and mock per say things like how the world was created in 7 days and never mentions that in Hebrew day means either 24 hours or long length of time. Maybe he does in his book. I would not relate him to Carl Sagan because Carl is not demeaning in his approach to me like for example Richard and Neil DeGrasse. The both of them can be very condensending. I’m not a big fan, especially because when in debates, I’ve seen he is not matched up with people who study outside of the bible to support their foundation of beliefs; they do not feel the need to. Dawkins will pivot on the fact they are not men of research but men of scripture. Also like my mother the both of them will find immoral laws that when Jesus came he had changed the rules on them, and they only focus on the one line instead of an actual understanding of the law since Jesus. His favourite thing to do is name the era’s that humanity has been through and what Homo-sapiens have been classified into when no one but him has them all memorized, meanwhile the bible speaks of The Great Flood which occurred roughly 12, 500 years ago and also suggests humanity has been around for 47, 000 years with religious teaching and science figures around 50, 000 years which is not far off. Because he totally emits any likelihood of ANY sort of authenticity of the bible (which there are many) in his debates I may never read it. On the bright side I think he is a good guy and is trying to help the world through debunking religion for their own good and this is under a lot of pressure at times. I imagine it can be stressful for him hence his outbreaks and sometimes seen as childish hate for the book itself and blank stare he is forced into when he feels all logic is defied in the bible XD his philosophy on science is one of my personal favs: my philosophy of science is this... Science is very interesting, if you don’t agree, f*** off and he is quite hilarious at times.
