A hero is the one who does his job without being rewarded. He does it just for the others. He makes gifts for the others. We know the one from the ancient myths - Prometheus.
A leader is the one who takes care of the whole community by his own methods. He is the one who is believed to be a man knowing the way out for the others. He gets gifts from the others. We know the one from the ancient history - Alexander the Great.
I think that the World has been tired of leaders. We don't needed in them.
The World isn't needed leaders; the World is needed the heroes!

Yeah. Leaders usually are corrupt and seek their own benefit while a hero thinks of what is best for the majority and makes sacrifices to achieve the best for everybody.

As for me, every heroes don't afraid to be unknown having done his virtues. For heroes - names mean nothing; for heroes - his job means everything!

Legends = Heroes + Leaders I think you right, but the World isn't needed any legends. We need to be going to be heroes, not legends. Legends require names; heroes aren't needed to be remembered by us. After doing his job hero vanishes.

Heroes can be an example but it's not necessary. Moreover, it's even bad for us and him to be remembered; it would be good for heroes to did his job just doing his job. Our weakness requires examples. Besides, exceptional qualities are very arguing. You can be the simplest person but still be able to make some good feats.

Therefore the word exceptional is not used to mean non-existent qualities, but rather to refer to qualities that are distinguished.

I like leaders much more and i think heroes much more expendable! I don't like average Joe, even if he is good person, but i like leader, even if he / she is greedy / evil / thenever you don't like. Impact and development of our civilization is more important, than you simple care for good feats. And name means a lot for me - nameless guy (Hero) is just expendable pawn in game of real constructors of our human reality (Leader).

Well, as for me, the first main ability of the hero is to alienate (or estrange) his doings, his job. 'My job is done, so I can die now, and untill I finish I'll try to stay alive (just for doing my job)'. - this is real heroes' words.

I understand your position, but tell me how can you look into people's faces thinking that? And where's your self-esteem, your respect for yourself? Can't you be hero? I think you can be. If we remember heroes names - it is not bad at all, but our task is to do job, not to raise leaders. I think you can do things not asking for rewards. Our slavs tales are filled with many cases like that, I mean rewardless job, a job just for people, not for oneself. There are no leaders in our tales.

I also understand you, but even i'm as Hero gladly sacrifice myself for leader (and our Slavianian histroy have them - Peter the Great; Ekaterina II; Alexandr II; Ivan Kalita; industrialists of various new for Russia / Poland / other slav countries industries; Lenin and various communists) - they are much more rare, individualitsic and precisious. They can be very wrong - but they move history and make hard and necessary decisions for all of us - alone this makes Leader much better in my eyes, then simpleton Hero (even if he is "good boy"). And yes, i can look into people faces and gladly say: " I like Leaders more"!

I can understand desicion to be sacrificed for our fathers, grandfathers, but I can't understand for brothers to die for a brother. So, here's a crossroad: on the one hand, we have a linear model of family, and on the other, we have a non-linear one. But why the system should be just linear? As for me it sounds like: we can't have more than one child in the family. But why? Anyway, thank you for your comments!

I know that my words can be interpreted like: for what all heroes die? But it's not necessary to have just one purpose for all. I can die for my girlfriend, I can die for my cousine, or my best friend, but should I die for someone who I do not even know??
We can become heroes fighting for the good idea, but not for the good-looking man.
HERO is a person! leader is NOTHING!
Heroes don't take orders from nothing! They are following by theirs hearts!!
