Didn't we have a similar thread? I don't see it anymore. I don't think so and I hope not. But I will delete it if I find it then.

Tell us ..Iii'm afraid to tell. May I stay quite this time?.. I was joking, surely. Lots of. Aristotle, H. Putnam, D. Davidson. Also like analytic philosophy of religion - R. Swinburne, most of all. I know him personally, he is a friend of mine.

I don't have much idea about european philosophers, though I have studied plato the republic. Now, from subcontinent, mine is this one, who propagated philosohpy of dualism. His name is madhava acharay, an high lord/brahman en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MadhvacharyaWe don't follow him though, but, as we belong to same race, so I am inspired by him. In those days, he had criticized lot of knowledge methods and even developed it Madhva calls epistemology as Anu pramana.[26] It accepts three pramāna, that is three correct means of knowledge, in contrast to one of Charvaka and six of Advaita schools of Hindu philosophies:[27][28] Pratyaksha (प्रत्यक्ष) means perception. It is of two types in Dvaita and other Hindu schools: external and internal. External perception is described as that arising from the interaction of five senses and worldly objects, while internal perception is described as that of inner sense, the mind.[29][30] Anumāna (अनुमान) means inference. It is described as reaching a new conclusion and truth from one or more observations and previous truths by applying reason.[31] Observing smoke and inferring fire is an example of Anumana. This method of inference consists of three parts: pratijna (hypothesis), hetu (a reason), and drshtanta (examples).[32][33] Śabda (शब्द) means relying on word, testimony of past or present reliable experts.[34][26] It is also known as Agama in Madhva's Dvaita tradition, and incorporates all the Vedas. Hiriyanna explains Sabda-pramana as a concept which means reliable expert testimony. The schools of Hinduism which consider it epistemically valid suggest that a human being needs to know numerous facts, and with the limited time and energy available, he can learn only a fraction of those facts and truths directly.[35] Madhva and his followers introduced kevala-pramana as the "knowledge of an object as it is", separate from anu-pramana described above.[36] Its sanskrit though.

He was mis understood by everyone No, I think there is another problem - Eastern philosophy is most like a way of living, and sometimes it's hard to be understanded 'cause of lots of nuances. Dao or similar notions could have been compressioning for a whole life. Western ph. is rather 'quicklier' position of view. I guess.

Actually even his own followers can't understand it. In today's time those who call themselves madhva followers are just for the name sake because they get money from government. So called people even send their kids to convent schools but will say we are purest breeds though their contribution in nothing. But this philosopher was not like this. A Muslim sultan actually created his place of meditation. He has not died and is still meditating. But yes these people who promote yoga etc are quacks and are money minded not enlightened souls.

Yes, I agree. For western or east-western (who minds like western people) sometimes are to hard to differ a real one yoga master from its phantoms.

The aryan texts talk about 3 material nature of a person, these are at soul level.
The first is sattva or spiritual, actually, this is the one which is associated with a true yogi or an enlightened, and would be heading towards salvation or liebration.
Other one is rajas or ruling, though ruler must be equivalent to the gods.
The third one is tamas, associated with wordly matters. Aryans never talked about country or nationality or race of person also!!!!
As of now, everyone is associated with wordly matters, so can't escape, and have to fight it out.
Now, I don't have much knowledge and neither I want to be a quack here, but I know these things in little, so.

Plato, perhaps a bit cliche but I still find the methodology of his approach to be the fullest. After that I have to admit I'm a bit of Nietzsche man, but just for his critical thinking skills otherwise he's a complete hoser.
