Are there any cheap instruments for detection paranormal activity? I've heard about the white noise, but it doesn't seem to be easy to spot it.

We used a wine glass many decades ago with great success. Though it can get a bit spooky. Myself and Mari M made contact with Houdini without doubt in such a session.
Place the wine-glass upside down on a mirror, place 26 letters of the alphabet in a circle around it about half meter circumference. (Pieces of paper or scrabble letters). Add options for Yes/No & numbers zero to nine helps too.
Best results have 3 or 4 people place one finger lightly on the upturned glass. Ask if anyone is listening and wait for the glass to move.
Do not in any way try to force the glass to move by pushing it with a finger. If anyone does this, the session will not work.
If you meet hostile spirits and the glass moves to violently around, and the vibe gets too aggressive, simply remove your fingers, turn the glass over to release the spirit, wait a bit, and try again a few minutes later.
Works even better if you do it in an old abandoned church...

There are apps for this on the phone apparently and they work. My brother kept claiming his attic was haunted or something, that he'd hear something pacing around in it and calling to him, but none of us believed him. So, one day I entered his room and he showed me around and he talked about it and how he has a bunch of apps on his phone that are supposed to help him catch the outlines of and communicate with spirits. I just kind of went along and was like, okay, let's see, not taking it seriously really, but sure enough he did catch this thing that was a bit shorter I think than the average human and was dancing around like a maniac.
I thought that this must be fake or something because it was completely ridiculous obviously. I believe in ghosts and demons but this thing was acting retarded, excuse my French. Then my brother pulls out the thing that supposedly allows him to speak to spirits and says, "Hello." Then the thing responds with, "Hello, American." It as a very curious thing to say because I was just musing under my breath about how his room looked like a typical 1980s child's room when he growing up, with all the 1980s memorabilia, the many swords he had, and especially all the chest-thumping Raegan era patriotism that survived to my childhood and I kind of missed, what with the many flags, copies of the Constitution etc.
I thought it strange that it said that and kind of knew what I was thinking like it was inspiring it the way demons whisper thoughts into a man's mind. I also thought it strange that it didn't address us by our names or as individuals, just by our national identity, our nationality, like this was how it saw us primarily. My brother says something like, 'American?", WTF? because it seemed to take him off guard also. Then my brother basically tells this politically incorrect kind of racist inside joke and is like, "Are you the ghost of Treyvon?" Referencing Treyvon Martin, the black dude that was killed by that half white half Hispanic neighborhood watch fellow that ruined race relations, which were actually very good until that point, for my entire generation. We'd make jokes about the ghost of Trayvon Martin floating into our room asking for money so he could make lean or some crap, a liquid mind-altering drug. When Treyvon died he had the ingredients in his pocket, Robitussin and watermelon ice tea, to make it hence the joke, stupid joke, I stopped making it a while ago. This thing responds, very creepily responds, "Yes." And my brother just looks at me again and says, "Yes?", WTF again. But the voice was so understated that we just kind of ignored it.
Later in the day I decided to take a shower, but little did I know that a thunderstorm was expected at noon that day and had been delayed. But as soon as I got the shower going, unbeknownst to me the storm came and was apparently very ferocious. You don't take showers in lightning storms because you can get fried by the lightning. My family, knowing I wouldn't hear them in the shower started running the washing machine, hot water faucets, toilets and doing everything that they could to cool the water, but the water just wouldn't cool, felt like a normal shower to me. While in the shower suddenly something came over me and I started to go on a xenophobic rant against Western Europeans specifically saying some very scurrilous and vicious things not knowing that there was a thunderstorm going outside. When I got out and talked to the family they all looked perturbed and told me what happened. Then I remembered what happened earlier in the day and immediately put two and two together. It was an attempt by that demon to set up my death while in sin so that I'd burn in hell afterward. It tried to take me out.
It isn't the first time that I ran into this thing actually. At one point my family and I went to the local Mexican restaurant which was in fact staffed by Mexican immigrants. What disturbed me while I was there was that my family was acting very arrogant towards the Mexicans, making fun of their Aztec and day of the dead paintings backhandedly complimenting them as some British colonialists would observe Hindu art and rituals thinking they are quaint or fascinating in a kind of exoticized barbaric manner. They'd make little comments that were condescending to the Mexicans, like after ordering, the Mexican waiter would walk away and my father mockingly and sarcastically added, "Hombre...' I found the whole thing very distasteful because we're entering their house, eating their food, as their guests and going in there with such arrogance and disrespect is just... inhospitable (this is the South) and ugly, so I tried being as polite as humanly possible to them. The whole time, I felt that something else was there among us, something invisible, a spirit inspiring this arrogance. I am a Christian and have the Holy Spirit so sometimes I can discern these things accurately. I got the feeling that the haughtiness that the spirit was inspiring was a kind of genuine feeling on its part, like it hated all humans and saw them all as monkeys, but it liked us, because we were IT'S monkeys. We were white Germanic Americans, which most Americans are. Later on God spoke to me and said that these demons were causing all of the divisions between the races, regions, nations, tribes, and ethnic groups, and have been since humanity was divided into such. See Deuteronomy 32:8-9 I think it is, the Dead Sea Scrolls translation, which is the original one.
So, I struggle with a lot of sins that I try my best to repent from and often fail to or backslide into, partially because my house is actually infested with demons and they attack me relentlessly, one of them being the one I'm talking about, and others being of Iranic origin for different reasons that make sense in context. One of the things that makes it hard is at points when I feel them come upon me, I lose control, and such is especially so, when I start going on xenophobic rants about other countries and cultures (I'm autistic, I talk to myself at all times and am constantly thinking out loud) that are insulting and unwholesome. I try to stop myself but I can't it's like I'm possessed, and unlike many of the other demons where I can get them to leave by using Jesus' name, this thing wouldn't budge, like it was very powerful or had rights to me somehow. When I learned more about the thing, I heard that it was a familiar spirit, or a spirit attached to my family or bloodline, which again is distinctly Germanic. I also heard the term territorial spirit.
Now, in the Bible what charismatics (and I am not a charismatic) call territorial spirits do exist, and they are called the Shedim, the pagan gods. Pagan gods in the ancient world were thought to be tied to certain nations or ethnic groups and to control the land that they were tied to, to blood and soil. This is why Naaman in one of the books of the Bible, kings, I think, when he converts to the worship of Yahweh, he loads up on a carriage full of dirt and takes it to his homeland and puts it on the floor of his pagan temple, standing on it so that when he is supposed to be worshipping a pagan god, he is actually bowing to Yahweh worshipping on Yahweh's dirt.
So, this thing is some kind of pagan deity tied to our family. But, I didn't think that this was the whole story, because the thing tried to kill me with a lightning storm, which I didn't think that it was powerful enough to do for himself. It seemed too small fry to do that. It must have appealed to something above it in the hierarchy to do this but what? Well, in the Book of Daniel, it mentions two spiritual beings called the Prince of Greece and the Prince of Persia, which in Hebrew is Sar, commander or ruler. Basically, these are the chiefs of the pantheons of both nations Zeus and Ahura Mazda/Varuna. I started thinking though, if this kind of system was in place in the ancient world before Christ sent the Apostles to disciple the nations, what pantheon would get the United States? Well, the obvious answer is Odin, Thor, Frey, Tyr, and other Germanic deities, with Odin being the Sar or Prince. But the USA is a Christian nation so shouldn't have too many problems with such things, and yet, America has always acted very unchristian at points in its history and is in a stage of Apostasy right now. So, I asked, what happens when a nation or a family converts to Christianity and is free of their Shedim but then apostatizes or goes awry in some way? I asked God about this, and he gave me this quote from Christ.
Matthew 12:43-45, "When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.' When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean, and put in order. Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation."
Now Jesus Christ is talking about the Jews of his time here and is referencing their history of apostatizing from God and following Baal, Moloch, Asherah, and the other Canaanite gods, and then being punished with the Babylonian Exile and then were brought back by Persia and their land, rebuilding the Temple and worshipping only Yahweh. Jesus was saying that they had relapsed at that point to a worse state than they were before, but likely means such quite literally also, because again, the pagan gods are real evil spirits, meaning that the old gods had returned to the Jews, just not being worshipped and ruling behind the scenes, causing them to fall into a different kind of sin and rejection of God. The pagan gods don't actually need to be worshiped in such a situation, they can rule behind the scenes and are happy with any manner of leading their people away from God, whatever is most convenient at the time.
Likewise, I think that the same thing has happened to my country probably at many points throughout its history (and to Germany for that matter that one time, as Carl Jung famously pointed out) and the mainly Germanic-descended people who have lived here from the days of the first colonies make it to where Odin and the Aesir have rights to us, and the god of thunder in such a system in Thor, which my first name is named after as well as my fathers first name, my family kind of has a connection to, and has always been my favorite deity from mythology I've been drawn to, whose also the god of the hearth in Germanic religion and the god that families would hallow themselves to for protection and would probably be in charge of doling out household deities because of this. I even bought a Thor pendant one time before I studied original Biblical theology, realized that it's the symbol of a demon, and chucked it out.
Now, the little dancing murderous thing in my brother's attic's mythological equivalent is a Brownie, or Hob, or Kobold, a household spirit, or household god attached to homes and families through ancestral lines, which is why it's so small, it dances like a fairy, and it hangs out in my brother's attic, a common place where they make their home in mythology. Likewise, my mother has now gotten this strange urge to start bringing in these little stuffed Santa's, but they don't look like the Jolly Fat Man at all. They aren't really dressed or shaped like him and look like gnomes, or depictions of Kobolds. She buys them and puts them in our house, and my brother keeps saying that they give him the Heeby Jeebies for some reason he can't explain. It's like it's putting its own idols in our house. I've also seen them... everywhere in the bookstore that I frequent, I think that they're actually a common thing but I really don't like them. Screw gnome-looking Santa's, bring back the jolly fat man. My circumstances make me dislike them.

And despite it being a common belief America is not a Christian Nation nor was it founded as a Christian Nation.

That is how it will be with this wicked generation." Now Jesus Christ is talking about the Jews of his time here and is referencing their history of apostatizing from God and following Baal, Moloch, Asherah, and the other Canaanite gods, and then being punished with the Babylonian Exile and then were brought back by Persia and their land, rebuilding the Temple and worshipping only Yahweh. So a rainstorm that was scheduled blew in late and you think that's because it was meant to try to kill you? And not that the weather forecaster was slightly inaccurate on its timing?. And despite it being a common belief America is not a Christian Nation nor was it founded as a Christian Nation. Well, in isolation I may of thought such but considering what happened earlier in the day that led up to that point and what happened precisely at that point on many fronts I put all those variables together and come to a conclusion based on a holistic assessment of the data. As for the Christian nation thing, what is meant by a Christian nation? I find when this argument is being had between people they are talking past one another because they mean different things. I mean that America is a culturally Christian nation, for whom the majority of its history most of the people have been Christian religiously like any other Western country, I do not mean that it is a theocracy. The founding of the union in 1776 wasn't based on Christianity, it was based upon Enlightenment values, this much is true. Although the original 13 colonies were, almost to a colony founded as Christian theocracies with established churches whether Puritan, Quaker, Catholic, or Anglican, so it really depends on what founding you mean. By the time of the Revolution people had been here for almost 200 years. There's an argument that I think is true that the USA is not a nation at all, but a federation or a union of different cultural, ethnic, and regional nations based upon the centers of the original 13 colonies and their settlement patterns out west. Dialect maps, genetics, material culture maps, political affiliation maps, the prominence of certain religious denominations, bear this out. All of these were Protestant nations in their founding and quite fanatical ones at that.
