Well, I don't know about all people, I can say it about myself: no arbitrariness for me is logical. What is that arbitrariness? It is this: if the sum of a triangle's angles equals 180 d, then each triangles has the same sum of angles. Or, if a person is breathing oxygen, then all the people do the same.
For the first glance there is nothing so serious, and we use such sentences in many cases as in our daily lives so in science. However, arbitrariness is nothing, but an assumption or a hypothesis. No assumptions about A is B are deductive, until we can say about each element is of A that it is B. And we cannot do this for arbitrary properties.
Surely, the arbitrariness is a great help for people, not for the clear thinking. What is not deductive - is inductive, for any inductive conclusions are only possible, not necessary.
