This was a bit before my time, and I only hear of this now, but it explains so much - a missing piece of the historical puzzle for me.
Thoughts on this, anyone? Any other info I am missing?

Hmm... As for me that's possible. I never considered Israel as a peaceful country. Many Israelists I had been talking these last months refused to support Ukraine even being aware of genocide. I think they might have done it to start changing politics in the world or something.
But I might say I don't know too much about this, because it was long time ago. I'm not aware of it so much. Politics and media are get along all the time. Trust to media is as dangerous as to trust to the politics.
