As a matter of fact there was such a party in Germany. An interesting point is that to be nationalistic is to hold some idealistic views or positions, while being socialistic is to care about materialistic sides of communities: conditions, wellfare, fair relationships, transparency, etc.
I think that a mere position in nationalism is as good as a mere position in socialism. The majority might be almost brainless, and nationalism can go too far in its wishes and desires. I wonder whether any political movements fail at the very start of their ideas?
