When is it ok, if ever, to disobey the law?

Sometimes in self-defense is possible! But in General it is impossible! As a lawyer, I say

I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do. I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do.

If law is there is because of a reason. Otherwise, it wouldn't be there...

Hmm...only when it restricts basic rights. Like if law says you can't practice your religion anymore, if it says there is only one opinion so believe that, if it denies free speech, etc. Otherwise there is no reason for breaking the law. Law should only be made better not worse if it comes down to it but it shouldn't oppress.

Some have said that laws are meant to be broken. There are laws they are truly something that should be obeyed like you can't steal. Now we also say,all is fair in love and war.My nation has participated in wars that have defended liberty and such.If I find myself in a situation where I believe a law has been broken,an offence ongoing by current government then yes,it is not only my right as a Canadian to take measures officially and if they are ignored and real harm is being done or insult to human freedoms and rights guaranteed by my constitution then the only avenue would be united nations then well, all is fair

I believe that I have a moral obligation to obey the laws of the society in which I live. If I find them oppressive, immoral, or otherwise objectionable then I have an obligation to resist, to take whatever actions needed to change the law. If I live in a society where there is not option to change laws and resistence is suppressed, then if I have the option to leave that society, I should. If resistence and leaving are both not possible, then I have an obligation to do the right thing and avoid detection (i.e. decieve the State)as much as possible. There are many stories of such resistence from the period of the Nazis.

But most people in our world are ready to swallow and put up with any shit from our politicians and countries to lick themselves to live well and safely and absolutely not resisting it!

One should obey the laws/rules of groups that one respects. When I am around Muslims, I try not to break Muslim rules because I respect Islam. And of course I try to follow the principles of the Old Testament which is my religion. When I lived in Japan, I obeyed their laws because I respected their society. But I have lost all respect for America, so I wouldn't hesititate to break America's laws.
