I. Kant was maybe the first deist. Many deists were in the epoch of Enlightment, like Russoe or Volter.
Deism thinks that a god is someone like a clock master, who set the world and then we left this mechanism. And deism is a self-contradiction thinking, cause it let something upper to this thought. I mean it's similar to 'Russel's pot' if you know.

I'm agnostic, but if God is real, it's most likely the Deist version and not the one written about in "holy" books.

Thomas Paine, who coined the term ' United States of America' and an American revolutionary, was a deist. And so was Abraham Lincoln who was fond of Paine's works on deism.
There is a deistic element in my own spiritual methodology in that I give a lot of importance to logic and reasoning, but at the same time I also give importance to intuition as well.
I believe that intuition can enable one to cover many logical steps in a single or few steps.

There seem to be lots of Deistic definitions; some of which exclusively state God without religion, others specifying the importance of non-intervention for the definition of deism. In addition to that, there's discussion on the definition of God. Does this make deism an umbrella term of some sorts?

As a Chrsitian, I only say hell because bible says there's hell. It appears in the bible over 50 times. I'd have to be blind to say there's no hell then or not be able to read. I would love to say there isn't though but God says there is in the bible so....

A jewish scholar once told me that there is no such thing as hell in judaism. So where did Jesus get the idea from !
Heavens and hells are prevalent in Hinduism and Buddhism though.

It's in old testament as well. Daniel 12:2 2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt. Is the same as NT 2 Timothy 4 I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom. Revelation 20 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. And revelation 20 says that the dead will be separated into life or hell. Also OT uses the old word "Sheol" over 30 times to refer where the dead go. And hell is considered the second death that the dead go to after judgement as revelation 20 says.

With regards to heaven or hell . There is this beautiful egyptian concept . The guardians of heaven will ask u 2 questions that will determine whether u will get admitted in heaven . Q1 . Did u find joy in life ? Q2 Did u help find others joy in Life ? With regards to information presented its more of a information rather than something i concur with. Presenting perspectives that may be new to Arktos community. The last statement pretty much says it all . Same happened with Quran screwed the original meaning in translation to benefit power corrupts.
