I am trying to understand what 'private variants' actually mean, looked on Internet but still unsure. Can anyone help? Thanks

Is this on your results? I don't think I ever heard of this.

Thanks for the reply Elizabeth, after searching this morning I found a simple answer* Private variants are mutations that have occurred in the line being tested, but not yet in other lines. Occurrences of private variants in multiple testers allow the Private Variant to be named and placed on the haplotree. Simples So my answer is yes I have a number of them on the result of BigY but I will have to wait many moons by the looks of it to allow them to be named on the Haplotree.
