The further they go down this road, the more resentment they'll create among the thinking part of the gamer population. It can only go on for as long as it's passively supported by the gamer population itself. This is similar to the rotten practices of Microsoft in regards to Windows 10. It only works when there isn't a good alternative for most Windows users. Linux still only have an estimated market share of 3,37%. However, I recall reading an article from ten years ago which stated that Linux was finally at 1%. Real changes in society always happen slowly. itsfoss.com/linux-market-share/ So I expect the game industry to get away with their shenanigans for some time, but what we're really witnessing is a structure that is slowly infected by rot, and at some point the decay will have reached a point of no return. Whatever vacuum it will leave behind will become an opportunity for other actors.

karlI agree with you. If you read the comment section of linked video, you will see how many gamers want to use GOG and look for DRM-free digital platforms. That's good news.
