Why do some people like both coffee and beer? A new genetics suggest beverage preferences hinge on psychoactive effects. Why do you swig bitter, dark roast coffee while your coworker guzzles sweet cola? Scientists searched for variations in our taste genes that could explain our beverage preferences, because understanding those preferences could indicate ways to intervene in people's diets. But to scientists' surprise, the study showed taste preferences for bitter or sweet beverages aren't based on variations in our taste genes, but rather genes related to the psychoactive properties of these beverages. "The genetics underlying our preferences are related to the psychoactive components of these drinks," said Cornelis, assistant professor of preventive medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. "People like the way coffee and alcohol make them feel. That's why they drink it. It's not the taste."www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/05/190502100814.htm

I like coffee because of its taste. It's best with creamer but black is ok too. It has a wide variety of tastes so very appealing. Beer should be used with prescription for stuff. Like I plan to purchase it for the first time because it makes your hair thicker and stuff so need hair products.

I only drink coffee if I have to stay up at all costs. My beverage is tea--no sugar, lot of water, and just a little bit of milk. I drink beer fairly often, and I simply love the drink. Whether it's sunny, overcast, or rainy, beer is always good! Of course, this is just a personal preference.

well, the underlying fact is that beer is harmless compared to coffee. This is a secret which they let us know.
cocoa has far more caffeine content which is carcinogenic.
Back then, drinking and smoking was never viewed bad, hell, smoking was a way to lose weight.
But all of a sudden, teas, and coffees have become the status of civilized people, errrr- i mean, corporate sloggers
