The Andronovo culture is a collection of similar local Bronze Age cultures that flourished c. 2000–900 BC in western Siberia and the west Asiatic steppe. It is probably better termed an archaeological complex or archaeological horizon. The older Sintashta culture (2100–1800 BC), formerly included within the Andronovo culture, is now considered separately, but regarded as its predecessor, and accepted as part of the wider Andronovo horizon. Most researchers associate the Andronovo horizon with early Indo-Iranian languages, though it may have overlapped the early Uralic-speaking area at its northern fringe. According to genetic study conducted by Allentoft et al. (2015), the Andronovo culture and the preceding Sintashta culture are partially derived from the Corded Ware culture, given the higher proportion of ancestry matching the earlier farmers of Europe, similar to the admixture found in the genomes of the Corded Ware population. Andronovo culture and their neighbours and relatives in the Bronze Age. When the glacier from the Northern Europe began to retreat, in the Central and southern parts of European Russia, the Urals and Siberia arose the main centers of Indo-European culture. Most significant, perhaps, is the Andronovo culture of the Bronze age, arose in the East of the Urals, Siberia and Central Asia. It was here, in the Urals, there was the first Aryan civilization - the country of the ancient Arkaim and Sintashta and many other similar cities.

Paleogenetic
Genetic studies of the remains of the Andronovo people have shown the presence of representatives of culture and Y-chromosome haplogroup r1a1 (9 cases) and on the Y-chromosome haplogroup C (OD M48) (1 case) and mitochondrial haplogroups y, Z, t, h, K and VN, I. In one study of 2015 was discovered and Y-chromosome haplogroup R1a1a1b2a2-Z2124 and mitochondrial haplogroup Y2 and Y4, in another study 2015 the representative of the Fedorov culture (Tartas-1) was discovered mitochondrial haplogroup a10. The closest to Andronovo people were representatives of European culture corded ware and intestinal culture and the contemporary Indian population.
