In saving others, do you think sometimes one can destroy oneself in terms of showing someone mercy after they attack you physically or psychologically? Perhaps do you guys think that person shown mercy to takes advantage and control the person who showed mercy to that defeated person? A lot of difficulties in this, no? What will remain after the defeated one is shown mercy? Hatred and revenge? Or thankfulness and friendship?

Well I guess it's possible there's nothing new in philosophy possible to obtain, maybe no more original ideas possible for geniuses to come out with in papers in colleges and even if there are, are just various types and offshoots of major ones already out. If you ask me, yeah, it's possible, that may be true, but it's a truth I'll stave off because it's not who I am for I believe there're higher mysteries that is still is to come until it arrives whether it is here on this world or in the beyond in space. We can agree to disagree. As to your question to my age, I'll just say I'm around your age. There will always be new ideas, but they will be rehashes of the old. You can check the "I just killed philosophy" thread. It provides three foundation laws inescapable in all reason. Everything is just an extension of those. They will appear highly abstract at first, so you may want to reread them or ask questions.

Good topic! Showing mercy is always good, especially to those who need it. Some don't need it and want to only take advantage of you or hurt you for your good deed. And both will happen when you show mercy because you are not all knowing about what they will do about you showing mercy. But if the result is good then you can keep showing mercy in other times to them again. But if the result is bad then they didn't want your mercy after all. They might have said they did but their actions showed otherwise. Then, next time show your mercy to someone new or someone you showed mercy to that actually wanted it. So saving others is worth it, but be cautious. If you show endless mercy to ones who don't actually need it than it can backfire.

Insert any concept for "axiom".
